Mid-Lancs. Track & Field
Again it is hoped that Burnley can build on its successes of last season this year and all the dates for the coming events are published in the Club House or ask your Team Managers when you are down at the track.
It is important that BAC athletes remember to check the Club's notice boards for information regarding all forthcoming events as it is your responsibility to find out this information. The Team managers can't phone 'round athletes to remind them as they both have full-time everyday jobs to do too. So PLEASE THINK and CHECK the NOTICE BOARDS.
You can also visit the Club's website on www.burnleyathleticclub.org.uk (i.e. this site if you're reading this online :-). There are reports on events and the dates of forthcoming events in both Track and Field - visit the website and tell us what you think.
Northern Mens
Team Manager is Sue Ingham, again events will be posted on either the Clubhouse notice board or the website, so get surfing!
The VETS
Team Manager is John Edwards - John has recently taken up this role and it was aggreed that he was the right person for the job as he looks the oldest, or was that because he's a wiz at the Hammer, shot, discus, high jump, long jump, triple jump and running!

Last season our Vet men did us proud, coming second with only 2 or 3 at most meetings. Let's hope this year they can run, throw and jump to the top of the pile with new additions such as Phil Wall, who joined the ranks of veteran athletes on the 22nd of February when he reached the ripe old age of 40! Happy Birthday to Phil! (right) It is hoped that our lady vets can make an impact this year. Last year saw our single lady vet competitor Julie Wall gain club records in both the Javelin and Shot, here's hoping this year Julie and our new additions can hit the target both on Track and Field. |
