Welcome to the Newsletter ArchiveBelow are samples of Club Newsletters, beginning with the February 2002 Edition Edition 16 - February 20022001 saw many ups and downs for the club, however the ups far outweighed the downs. Our younger athletes along with the senior men and vets all did the club proud, whether it was on track, field or cross-country. We had many successes in both the Mid-Lancs, Northern Mens (the team gaining promotion) and the Vets (mens team 2nd place) competitions during the summer months, completing an excellent year for trophies and medals with superb efforts from all our cross-country athletes in both the Mid-Lancs and Red Rose leagues. I was privileged to attend both the Club's own presentation evening and also the Red Rose Cross-Country presentation evening where the Under 13 girls team were overall winners, with Danni Walker taking a fistful of prizes. The Under 15 boys team also came out top of the pile with 3 of the runners receiving individual accolades too. However this by no means left out the Under 13 Boys nor the Under 15 girls or our Under 17 boys as we had a number of individual awards for our athletes in these age groups too.

Congratulations to all the athletes who took part in all the events over the last 12 months. At the end of 2001 the Club's AGM was held. Sadly, Keith Kershaw retired as the Club's Chairman but will remain involved with the Club as a throws coach and competition official. The committee presented Keith with gifts from the Club and thanked him for his long service to the Club and committee. The post of Chairman was duly appointed to Mick Linaker. The committee and our athletes would like to wish Mick every success in his new role.
